We strongly recommend vaccination, but also guard against over vaccinating.

We routinely vaccinate using certain chosen core vaccines. In dogs, this includes distemper virus, adenovirus (viral hepatitis) and parvovirus. In cats, this includes feline herpesvirus, feline calicivirus and feline parvovirus (feline panleukopenia) We follow WSAVA recommendations. In South Africa, it is compulsory for all dogs and cats to be vaccinated against rabies.

Other vaccines that we regularly administer according to the animal’s needs include kennel cough for dogs and feline leukemia virus for cats. Each patient’s vaccination requirements are tailored to their needs by taking environmental, lifestyle and other factors into consideration, which can be discussed in our clinics.
